This is the first Enrichment Blast of the 2026-2027 school year! Here, you'll find opportunities to extend your learning outside the classroom from community partners throughout the Philadelphia region. Listed below are a few early opportunities shared, and there will be more to come!

After-school program for juniors and seniors exploring tech careers and computer science with people who work in the field. Starts Sep 30.

UC Berkeley and Penn student societies

Free 8-week online program on bioengineering with college mentors. No biology background needed.

West Chester University

A full day of hands-on science labs and career exposure for female students, run by WCU faculty and undergrads. Saturday, Oct 3.

Mathnasium of Center City

Get hired as a paid instructor while you are still in high school. They want strong communicators, not only math stars.

F³ Financial Freedom Foundation

Junior Achievement

Start and run a real startup with your cohort, coached by business professionals. Starts Nov 2.

Temple University Fox School of Business

A morning on campus with the chair of Temple's Accounting Department: real careers, real college life, lunch included. Nov 6, 9 AM to 1 PM.

University of Pennsylvania

For juniors interested in nursing: interactive experiences inside Penn Medicine, a $500 stipend, and a full scholarship to La Salle University.

TRIP Program

Hands-on science and medicine for students who want to see what research actually looks like. Starts Jan 23, 2027.

ACE Mentor Program of Philadelphia

After-school mentoring from architects, engineers, and construction pros for anyone curious about how buildings get designed and built.

Philadelphia Board of Education

A seat at the table where district decisions get made. Represent students across Philly for the 2027 term. Sophomores and juniors.

Office of U.S. Senator John Fetterman

Paid, residential program working inside the U.S. Senate chamber during the spring session, with classes at the Senate Page School on Capitol Hill. Juniors only. Jan 24 to Jun 4, 2027.

KYW Newsradio

See the inner workings of one of the most respected news radio stations in the country and explore journalism and broadcast careers. Starts Oct 3.

NACAC

Hundreds of colleges in one hall. Meet admissions counselors face to face and ask about financial aid. Saturday, Oct 10, 11 AM to 3 PM, Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Malcolm Bernard HBCU College Fair

Many HBCUs offer on-site acceptances at this fair, so bring an unofficial transcript. Workshops on scholarships and fee waivers too. Nov 18, 6100 Stenton Ave.

University of Pennsylvania

Take real Penn courses during the fall and spring semesters while you are still in high school, with virtual options available. Juniors and seniors.

CIEE

Three to four weeks studying abroad in one of 40+ destinations, with programs in languages, STEM, business, arts, social change, and leadership, alongside students from across the U.S. Scholarships available.

Project HOME

After-school program on life skills, professional development, and career exploration, with cash incentives for showing up all year. Apply anytime.

After-school program for Latinx high school students built around leadership, academic support, and planning what comes after graduation. 1700 South St.

Philadelphia City Rowing

Free after-school rowing for School District of Philadelphia students, paired with academic mentorship and wellness education. Grades 5 to 12.
